📜 Eyewitness Records of the Crucifixion and Burial

Yeshu’s death on the cross is one of the most well-documented events in ancient history. It was witnessed by His disciples, recorded in all four Gospels, and confirmed by His own words and those who walked with Him. His crucifixion was not hidden—it was public, prophetic, and purposeful.

🕊️ What Happened?
After sharing the Last Supper with His disciples, Yeshu went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. There, He was arrested, taken before the Jewish leaders, and later handed over to the Roman governor, Pilate. Although Pilate found no guilt in Him, he gave in to the crowd’s demand and sentenced Yeshu to death by crucifixion.
Yeshu was crucified at a place called Golgotha. This form of death was reserved by Rome for non-citizens and rebels—yet the sinless Son of God chose this path to redeem us.
📖 Gospel Accounts of the Crucifixion
The death of Yeshu is described in detail in the following Gospel chapters:
  • Matthew 26–27
  • Mark 14–15
  • Luke 22–23
  • John 18–19

🔎 Yeshu Himself Foretold His Death
Yeshu did not go to the cross by surprise—He knew it was coming and spoke of it clearly:
  • John the Baptist called Him “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).
  • Yeshu foretold His own death multiple times (Matthew 16:21–23, 17:22–23, 20:17–19; Mark 8:31, 9:31, 10:33–34; Luke 9:22, 18:31–34).
  • In parables, He spoke of His coming sacrifice (Matthew 21:33–46; John 10:11–15).

✨ Yeshu Confirms His Death in Revelation
Even after rising from the dead, Yeshu confirmed the reality of His death:
“Fear not, I am the First and the Last, and the Living One. I died, and behold, I am alive forevermore…” — Revelation 1:17–18
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain…” — Revelation 5:12
👥 Apostolic Testimony: Eyewitnesses of His Death
🔹 Apostle Peter Peter, who saw Yeshu suffer, boldly declared:
“I was a witness of Christ’s sufferings.” — 1 Peter 5:1
“You killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. We are witnesses.” — Acts 3:15
He also wrote:
“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree… by His wounds you have been healed.” — 1 Peter 2:24
“Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” — 1 Peter 3:18
🔹 Apostle John
John stood near the cross and saw it with his own eyes:
“One of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear… blood and water came out. He who saw it has given this testimony, and his testimony is true.” — John 19:34–35
John later wrote:
“He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins—and not only for ours, but also for the whole world.” — 1 John 2:2
“By this we know love, that He laid down His life for us.” — 1 John 3:16
🪦 The Burial of Yeshu Christ
After Yeshu died, His body was taken down from the cross by a respected Jewish leader named Joseph of Arimathea, who was secretly a follower of Yeshu. With help from Nicodemus, they wrapped His body in linen cloth and placed it in a new tomb cut from rock.
“Then Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen shroud, and laid it in his own new tomb... and he rolled a great stone to the entrance.” — Matthew 27:59–60
The Roman authorities placed guards and a seal on the tomb to prevent anyone from stealing the body.
Yeshu’s burial shows that His death was real and confirmed by all who saw it—His resurrection was not a myth or trick. The tomb was sealed. But on the third day… it was empty.
