Yeshu’s Second Coming — The Blessed Hope

1. A Promised Return
After rising from the dead, Yeshu ascended into heaven. Two angels told the disciples:

  • "This same Yeshu, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go." — Acts 1:11
Yeshu Himself said:
  • "They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." — Matthew 24:30
2. He Will Come as Judge and King
At His second coming, Yeshu will:
  • Judge the living and the dead (2 Timothy 4:1)
  • Reward the righteous and punish evil (Matthew 25:31–46)
  • Establish the fullness of God’s Kingdom (Revelation 11:15)
3. Signs of His Coming
Yeshu taught that signs would precede His return, including:

We are not told the exact time, so we must be ready.
4. A Hope That Transforms
His return gives us hope to:
  • Live in purity and godliness (1 John 3:2–3)
  • Share the good news while there is time (2 Peter 3:9)
5. The Kingdom Has Begun but Not Yet Completed
Yeshu said, "The Kingdom of God is at hand" (Mark 1:15). By His death and resurrection, He brought the Kingdom. But the full realization—where God reigns over all and evil is removed—will happen when He returns.

The New Testament clearly describes the second coming of Yeshu as a future event that will be seen by all and accompanied by divine glory:

    “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels… and they will gather his elect.”

    “At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And he will send his angels… and gather his elect.”
  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17
    “The Lord himself will come down from heaven… and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that… we will be caught up… to meet the Lord in the air.”

    “Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him…”
  • Revelation 19:11–16
    “I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True... His name is the Word of God… On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”
Old Testament Prophecies Centuries before Yeshu’s first coming, the Hebrew Scriptures foretold His glorious return to rule the nations and restore peace:
  • Daniel 7:13–14
    “I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven… He was given authority, glory and sovereign power… His kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”
  • Isaiah 11:1–10
    “The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him… With righteousness he will judge the needy… The wolf will live with the lamb… The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”
  • Zechariah 14:3–4
    “Then the Lord will go out and fight… On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives… and the mountain will be split in two.”
Yeshu’s second coming will be the fulfillment of both ancient prophecy and His own words. It is the blessed hope of all who trust in Him—a day when He will defeat evil, restore creation, and reign forever as Messiah and King.
